Sree Sastha Institute of Engineering & Technology Connect Alumni Association held the first virtual alumni meet on 24th January 2021 at 10 am.

The virtual nature of the Meet made it a wonderful opportunity for alumni abroad to come together with alumni at home in India. Alumni from different walks of life and from different parts of the world like US, UK, Australia, and Singapore were part of the event. For the first time, there was a comparative large presence of alumni (32 in number) from the first batch that passed out in 2002.  All in all, 378 alumni registered for the event.

• Alumni Meet – 2008 was conducted on Friday, 18th April 2008 between 12.00 noon and 2.00 pm at PG Seminar Hall SSIET,

• Alumni Meet – 2009 was conducted in the month of Feb 2009 between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm at Hotel VIJAY PARK INN (Near Koyambedu Bus Terminal)

• Alumni Meet – 2010 was conducted on Sunday, 14th March 2010 between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm at Hotel Breeze Utsav Hall Kilpauk Chennai. The Chief Guest was Mr.R.Suresh President – CIT Alumni Associations

• Alumni Meet – 2011 was conducted on Saturday, 23rd April 2011 between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm at Hotel Breeze Kilpauk Chennai. The Chief Guest was Prof T.N.Swaminathan Director, External Affairs, Great Lakes Institute of Management.

• Alumni Meet – 2012 was conducted on Sunday, 22nd April 2012 between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm at Hotel Radha Regent 100 Feet Road, Near Koyambedu Bus Terminal. The Chief Guest was A.J.Bala Subramanian CEO, Care Voyant and Guest of Honour Mr. P.R.Madhan Director, Techruit.

• Alumni Meet – 2013 was conducted on Saturday, 6th April 2013 between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm at Hotel Radha Regent 100 Feet Road, Near Koyambedu Bus Terminal Chennai. The Chief Guest was Prof.R.Nagarajan Dean, International & Alumni Relations IIT Madras.

• Alumni Meet – 2014 was conducted on Saturday, 26th July 2014 between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm at Hotel Radha Regent 100 Feet Road, Near Koyambedu Bus Terminal Chennai. The Chief Guest was A.J.Bala Subramanian CEO, Care Voyant

• Alumni Meet – 2016 was conducted on Saturday, 17th Dec 2016 between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm at Hotel Vijay Park Inn, Anitha Hall (6th Floor), (Near Koyambedu Bus Terminal) Chennai. The Chief Guest was Mr.C.Harish MD, Malles Automated and Robotics Systems

SSIET deems those alumni members to be "Distinguished" after they have been formally recognised and acknowledged by their Alma Mater for their consistent interaction and good contribution in addition to their personal achievements.

The "Distinguished Alumni Award," which includes a silver plaque and a citation, is presented annually during the College Day function in March/April, for which proposals/nominations are solicited in January/February.

In addition to their professional successes, the recipient of the award is chosen by a committee formed by the college Management based on their level of interaction and contribution to the students, staff, Departments, Institution, and Society in general.
